Kew - Drama classes for kids aged between 7 and 12. Drama With A Difference is one of Australia's leading, independent drama schools. With a history that spans more than twenty years, it is the launching pad of many successful Australian actors- many of whom began with us as kids. We are industry professionals, and casting people contact us when looking for young talent. We also have contacts with ethical children's acting agencies which we can put you in touch with once we get to know you. Our students have appeared in lead roles and major guest roles in feature films, just about every Australian TV series in the past twenty years, endless commercials and professional theatre productions.

Aside from being a great school for the budding young actor. Drama With A Difference is strongly committed to providing high qualify drama classes for all kids, whether or not they aspire to be actors. Many children come to increase self-esteem, overcome shyness, make new friends or just to have fun! Our classes are run in a very nurturing, safe environment where the emphasis is on personal best.

There is no experience required to join our kids' classes. All children are treated equally, regardless of how long they've been attending classes. When we put on productions (if you stay until later in the year, which nearly all children do!), we do the casting in such a way that everyone has more or less an equal time on stage. We do this by choosing either a series of short plays, or doubling up the large roles in full-length plays.

Children will learn the skills of improvisation (coming up with ideas on the spot), self-devised scripts (writing small scenes with their friends), character work (coming up with different kinds of characters), voice work (naturally incorporated into the class via the activities undertaken by the children) and a host of other things!

The teacher of this class is experienced in acting and is also a fully qualified, working primary school teacher. He is one of the most popular teachers in the history of the school, as his mission in life is to bring out the innate creativity in all children.

When you go to the link given, take the time to read through our comprehensive website. It gives you information on our past success stories, our all-inclusive philosophy and approach, the history of the school, the background of the teachers, and pretty much anything else you need to know. If you want to discuss anything, please don't hesitate to give us a call.
