KATIE NOONAN: SONGBOOK supported by Jack Carty 4 x ARIA award winner Katie Noonan's technical mastery and pure voice make her one of Australia's most versatile and beloved vocalists. 'Songbook' will see Katie exploring material from throughout her career including songs from George, Katie Noonan and the Captains, Elixir and her acclaimed solo album. This intimate solo performance mode is the perfect setting for Katie to revisit her most popular songs. In 2013 The Herald Sun announced Katie one of the 20 greatest Australian singers of all time as voted by her peers. Don't miss this chance to see why. According to Katie, Songbook explores "the last 15 years of my life. It has been really interesting going through these works and seeing my evolution as a musician; my journey from a girl to a young woman to a wife and mother." In Songbook, Katie revisits moments that speak less about her career and more about her life and loves. 'Spawn' was written by "a 19-year-old girl facing the world and confronting the loss of innocence", elsewhere, 'Special Ones' speaks of "self-respect and empowerment" while 'Love's My Song For You' is a tribute to "then boyfriend, now husband and soul mate Zac," father of Katie's sons. The Songbook tour will show Katie at her most personal and sublime, with each song's origin and inspiration explored onstage. Fans will delve deeper into the songs they know and understand the background stories that accompany the material. Supporting Katie on this tour is singer-songwriter Jack Carty. Just 4 years ago a very young Jack took a leap of faith to answer the voices in his gut. The short time since has seen: The release of two albums, "One Thousand Origami Birds" (2011) and "Break Your Own Heart" (2012). Two EPs, "Wine & Consequence" (2010) and "The Predictable Crisis Of Modern Life" (2013). Extensive touring nationally and internationally, songs on soundtracks, duets with idols from his teen-hood, lots of aeroplanes, sleeping on floors, sleeping on couches, sleeping in cars. Painting. All with a dedication to narrative, lyrical turn of phrase and melody that gains the kind of widespread critical acclaim to make you believe this young man's gut was right. RUNNING TIMES: 8pm: Jack Carty (40 mins) 8:40pm: interval (20 mins) 9pm: Katie Noonan (90 mins) Street 1 - reserved | Duration - 150 minutes including interval.
