This latest suite of works takes inspiration from the Japanese concept of Sunyata: an emptying out of ideas and the meditative value of the Enso Circle. It is a metaphor of return to origins.
Grounding all of it is the South Coast itself — the escarpment and sacred mountains nearby gave her a sense of solidity, the shorebirds an ethereal lift, while the early-summer bushfires became their own symbol of force and regeneration. @artsitecontemporary @judytrick @originalexhibition @artsite

Full Circle is a body of work about return — not as retreat, but as a deepening.
For years Judy Tricks practice was defined by movement: new places, new light, new ground underfoot. This exhibition marks a turn inward; toward a landscape she now knows intimately rather than one encountered for the first time.
The paintings in this collection sit at the threshold between observation and memory. Skies dissolve into water; horizon lines blur where sea meets sky meets recollection.
Trick's works hold both the immediacy of a single sitting and the accumulated weight of years spent looking — the way a place changes not because the land moves, but because we do.
There is a kind of homecoming in this work, both literal and formal. The paint sits differently on the canvas now — looser in places, more deliberate in others — as though the years of travel have been folded back into a single, quieter language.
