Globally recognised, award-winning chamber musicians Inventi Ensemble will once again perform at Hawthorn Arts Centre in their popular Sunday Classics series, taking audiences on a voyage across the world with their gorgeous classical sounds.

The series begins on Sunday 1 March with Quintets “ Italy, Norway and Australia. Audiences can enjoy music from the Italian composer Cambini, a new arrangement of Grieg's much-loved Peer Gynt suite and a piece written for Inventi by Australian composer Luke Styles. Guests can combine their visit with a browse through the eclectic Hawthorn Makers Market, or enjoy the Glenferrie Festival taking place on Glenferrie Road from 11am to 5pm.

Continuing on Sunday 10 May is A French Connection which features the sublime sounds of flute, oboe and piano by Faure, Saint-Saens and Bizet, including the ever-popular themes from Carmen. The perfect Mother's Day first or date destination, this performance has something for everyone.

On Sunday 23 August is East to West, where audiences will take a tour of tunes from Eastern Europe, South America and the USA in this folk-inspired program for flute and guitar.

The series will come to an end on Sunday 25 October with Venetian Masterpieces, where Inventi will play a signature quintet ensemble of flute, oboe, violin, viola and cello masterpieces by Italian composers.

Pioneered by Artistic Directors Melissa Doecke and Ben Opie, Inventi Ensemble first defined Australian music with their inventive style in early 2014. They have since gone on to perform extensively across Australia with a strong focus on endorsing young and local talent. Internationally, they have performed at London's South Bank with San Francisco's Ensemble ParralleÌle, as well as music festivals across Europe, Abu Dhabi and USA.

Melissa Doecke is an exciting flautist with a French sensibility, depicted by her elegant performance style and restrained emotion. Oboist Ben Opie has been described as an oboist of matchless capacity who has the power to keep his audience connected in every performance.

Audiences can enjoy an afternoon of beautiful music at Hawthorn Arts Centre with Inventi Ensemble's sweet sounds from across the globe.

Hawthorn Arts Centre presents an exciting and varied arts program and is home to performance, exhibition, workshop and events spaces. Visitors can enjoy complimentary tea and coffee or explore Hawthorn and discover the area's culinary delights.
