An Exhibition dedicated to the natural colour and vibrancy of floral beauty'

The paintings in this still-life exhibition live beyond the 'still' and continue as 'life' on the canvas.

It is an exploration of the spirit of motion and emotion through the use of colour and distortion. Colour and movement are fundamental to the artist's work. Both are integral components of her personal interpretation of life through contemporary expressionism.

During the process of composition, a vocabulary of evolving colour and shape develops. This vocabulary facilitates the key elements of her work, which aims to both calm the spirit and refresh the inner life. The vibrations within the paintings elicit subconscious distortions, which reflect the artist's life experiences and can, hopefully, be re-imagined by the viewer.

'In Bloom' has an ephemeral quality, which the artist attempts to capture in the works. This is the second exhibition of Jennifer Gabbay's work at Day Fine Art. She is a Fine Arts diploma graduate and has been a three-time finalist in the Portia Geach Memorial Art Award for Australian women artists. Her works are collected by private and corporate collectors both nationally and internationally.
