HUSH artwork on www.artFido.com for charity!
ART HELPS BRIGHTEN THE WORLD FOR CHALLENGE KIDS Not for profit group, Challenge, is about to receive a special donation to help children and families living with cancer thanks to a world-renowned artist. Following the recent Hush exhibition at Metro Gallery, a giant wall mural was about to be painted over in preparation for a new showing, however the founder of website artFido, Juan Garcia, saw an opportunity to help a charity close to his heart. “The Hush painting will be auctioned off on the artFido website and all funds raised will go to Challenge.
This charity is a deserving recipient as they work so hard to bring colour and relief to suffering families during such dark times,” said Mr Garcia. Challenge chairman Tom Gleisner said the auction was a unique way to raise money for an important community organisation. “Funds raised will go directly towards the services we provide for around 300 children with cancer and their families. They include hospital support, music therapy, playgroups, family holidays and parent retreats. Art therapy is another service we are planning to introduce, so the association with artFido is fitting,” said Mr Gleisner. Alex McCulloch, Director of Metro Gallery in Melbourne says, “We sold pieces one third of this size for up to $15,000 during Hush’s recent exhibition.
There’s no telling what this one’s worth! This is a rare and exciting opportunity for any buyer.” And as if a huge piece of amazing street art wasn’t enough, we also have four other great pieces up for auction. Donated by Lauraine Diggins Fine Art, Mossenson Galleries, and Lookart Consulting, 100% of proceeds from the auction of these pieces will also go directly to Challenge. artFido is a modern day gallery with no walls.
The website is an exciting new way anyone can buy and sell art. The online sales and auction platform offers long time collectors or first time buyers the opportunity to own their very own Picasso at an affordable price. “One of the site’s main objectives is to open the art market up to generation Y and X, bringing art into the future,” said artFido co-founder Kris Growcott. Over 300 independent artists and almost 100 galleries have already registered to sell their art on artFido.
