ABOUT THE FILM: Trumbo

In 1947, the successful career of screenwriter Dalton Trumbo (Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston) comes to a crushing end when he and other Hollywood figures are blacklisted for their political beliefs. Trumbo tells the story of his fight against the US government and studio bosses in a war over words and the price he paid for his commitment to freedom. With an irrepressible creative talent, Trumbo would find his way back onto the big screen, writing several scripts under pseudonyms during his exile, including Roman Holiday and The Brave One, both of which won Academy Awards under aliases. Co-starring Helen Mirren, Diane Lane, John Goodman and Louis C.K, this fascinating portrait of a man who risked everything and refused to renounce his beliefs is a gripping, spirited drama that sheds light on one of the darkest chapters in Hollywood history.
