Foreign Bodies: New Works by Christopher Trotter

Published by: Ipswich Art Gallery | 22-May-2018
These new sculptures by Christopher Trotter are created from natural objects and discarded machinery. Drawn to the unique forms and weathered surfaces of these materials, Trotter's creations appear to have lived a hard life performing the task for which they were invented.

Since each creation is made by joining unrelated materials in an illogical yet seemingly plausible combination, we are left to ponder exactly what function they performed.

Christopher Trotter is a mid-career artist based in Boonah. His unique sculptures have been exhibited extensively through regional Queensland and over 40 of his public artworks are installed at various locations across the state, including Rail Rocket on the Brassall Bikeway.
