Emerging Melbourne based artist, Paink presents his first stand-alone exhibition Flying Solo - an exploration of an artist's evolving growth and progression through portraiture and graffiti at The Compound Interest, Collingwood from 19 - 25 November. The official launch of the exhibition takes place on Friday 22 November (FREE event, registration is required for launch https://www.painkartist.com/flyingsolo)

Paink's distinctive street style with a focus on realism, colour and proportion, which saw him shortlisted to Top 5 artists for London's prestigious 2019 Young Gun Art Awards, will be on show across his 13 artworks.

The exhibition journeys through themes of budding innocence, rebellion, confrontation and culminates with a sense of artistic freedom. Depicted in graffiti portraiture, birds are embedded in every artwork, demonstrating the urge to remain true to a unique identity and be free.

Each work by Paink reflects a fascination of the shapes and angles of the face and is layered in terms of technique and thought. Themed quotes, shapes and symbols are hidden to create intrigue and complexity, encouraging viewers to look beyond the surface.

2019 has been a breakout year for Paink with his work currently on display at Walton Fine Arts in Chelsea, London; group exhibitions Troublemakers II (VS gallery) and All Hands On Deck (Collingwood) and a large scale outdoor commission of Mohammad Ali in addition to being shortlisted in the 2019 Young Gun Art Award
