In his new exhibition, Hudson explores the quiet dialogue between Earth and sky. Recurring motifs such as birds, saltwater ecosystems and wildlife, moonlight and stars and the Glasshouse Mountains appear as symbols of larger natural systems, echoing cycles of gravity, migration and cosmic order.

‘The majority of my work is always landscape related. The aesthetic, the mystery, the seen and unseen, and the 'primal intelligence of nature’ keeps me working on what feels like the same picture over and over again.’ - Peter Hudson, 2026

'Not Dark Yet' ultimately celebrates the mystery of existence and the profound connectivity that links the terrestrial world to the stars above.

Peter Hudson has been a finalist in the Archibald Prize and is a three-time finalist in the Brisbane Portrait Prize. His works are represented in National and regional collections including Parliament House in Brisbane, and the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra.
