ARIA winner for 'Best Classical Album', pianist Tamara-Anna Cislowska and one of Australia's great composers, Elena Kats-Chernin invite you to this intimate and unique tête-a-tête with the composer and her long-time collaborator, performing Kats-Chernin's thrilling, lyrical and meditative music four hands at the piano, with the composer improvising live over her own scores. As one of Australia"s foremost contemporary composers, Elena Kats-Chernin attracts commissions from the world"s leading opera, ballet, and theatre companies and festivals. She has created works in nearly every genre, for chamber groups, orchestras, choirs and robotic instruments, among them pieces for Ensemble Modern, Sydney Theatre Company, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Australian World Orchestra and Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, the Melbourne, Queensland, Tasmanian, and Sydney Symphony Orchestras, as well as five chamber operas.

Tamara-Anna Cislowska is one of Australia"s foremost pianists, winner of many awards including the 2015 ARIA Award for "Best Classical Album" for her recording of Peter Sculthorpe"s complete piano works. Performing with all the symphony orchestras and at major festivals and venues throughout the country and overseas, other prizes include the 2012 APRA-AMCOS Art Music Award for "Performance of the Year (ACT)"and Italy"s Rovere d"Oro.

This is a program sure to delight audiences already familiar with Kats-Chernin's oeuvre, as well as being an irresistible introduction for those yet to discover the unique beauty, vitality and scope of Elena Kats-Chernin"s music.
