Ego Jacket: A persona that functions like a bulletproof vest. A disguise to conceal the truth.

Published by: Phillip Lee Curtis | 3-Dec-2017
By the age of 25 Phillip had lost 60 kilos, come out, had abdominoplasty, dealt with heartbreak and staged two shows about it, so you could say that all his troubles are behind him ...right?

With an upbeat attitude Phil prepares to stage a rock show for the ages, but as it turns out, just because you say you"re fine doesn"t mean you actually are. Join Phillip Lee Curtis on an audio visual journey of self-discovery in this rock cabaret extravaganza that explores anxiety, self-sabotage and the deep internal void.

Featuring a soundtrack of largely Australian classics, including songs by INXS, Nick Cave and Tina Arena, Ego Jacket explores deep personal issues and the fragility of mental health while laying bare truths Phillip has kept hidden even from himself. But will it all be too much? Can the show still go on?

Ego Jacket has been completely conceived by Phillip Lee Curtis, from the script, to the artwork, to the setlist, every piece of the puzzle was pulled together by the man himself to create a true one man show. And if producing a show about his own ego and casting himself as the star isn"t meta enough for you, Phillip even wrote this media release. Hello!

"I wanted to create something dark and honest, while still giving the audience a fun and entertaining ride. Ego Jacket is cabaret done my way, no more trying to fit into boxes I simply don"t fit into. This show is the most terrifying thing I"ve ever done and I cannot wait to share it."

So if like Phillip you"ve ever felt alone, struggled with mental health, eating disorders and identity, or if you just love great music, then get along to see Ego Jacket. It promises to be thought provoking, energetic and just a tad narcissistic.

"Stunning and Raw" - The Modern Con

"He will provide you with the therapy session you didn"t even know you needed" - Milkbar Mag

"I"m excited to see what comes next!" - Pop Culture Y

More songs. More honesty. No more shame.
