Domestic Goddess

Published by: Willoughby City Council | 16-Feb-2017
Incinerator Art Space in collaboration with Sabbia Gallery presents an exhibition of glass and ceramic artworks exploring the notion of the home-maker. Ten artists give voice to this often female-role through exquisitely crafted objects representing domestic ritual, while also drawing our attention to cultural and commercial influences that also shape this vital realm.
Venue: Incinerator Art Space
Address: 2 Small St Willoughby NSW 2068
Date: 1 March - 26 March 2017
Time: Wednesday to Sunday 10am-4pm

The exhibition shines a light on the notion of a "perfect" living environment and if this is ever achievable and at what cost. Through tongue-in-cheek humour the artists also question what it means to be a Domestic Goddess.

Overall, the exhibition addresses the beauty and drudgery of domestic labour driven out of necessity, pride but most of all, love.
