Diverse Landscapes

BY Reggie Clark | 06-May-2013
Diverse Landscapes by Joy Elizabeth Lea and Teresa Blazincic at Art at Linden Gate, Yarra Glen.

Joy Elizabeth Lea is an intuitive painter who works in oils, acrylic and mixed media. Much of her work is concerned with nature, with wild forests and the intricacies within natural habitats that constitute the web of life inhabiting our planet. Forests, landscapes, all the natural phenomena inform her art practice. An ever shrinking and fast disappearing world of nature is the world with which we are faced and the world that our children will inherit. Teresa Balzincic's visual experiences together with her love of structure and colour mean that her work is constantly evolving and changing.

This results in not merely being her interpretation of the subject at one point in time but a collection of moments over a period of time capturing its true energy and spirit. She has experimented with oils and other mediums and their application to create spontaneous patterns of lines and colour. The landscape is so diverse and ever changing particularly in these times of climatic change that it can have a great impact, visually, mentally and physically, on our lives.
