ABOUT - design100

design100 aims to deliver a platform of programs that will increase design literacy, encourage business outcomes and create legacy.

This will be done through creating recognition platforms for designers and commissioners of design, celebrating their work and partnerships, opening communication between designers and the marketplace and providing thought leadership on how design will shape the future.

design100 is a social enterprise, with 20% of programs’ profits returned to the industry through a series of grants that assist in the promotion of design.

Marketplace research conducted from 2007 - 2010 showed that business acumen in the design sector had the opportunity to be enhanced, that an increase in literacy could encourage broader uptake and bi-party commercial outcomes, and that the marketplace would benefit from development.

It also became evident that a key benefit for designers and their practices was in being able to gain recognition for their work and contributions, and that they were struggling to deal with power factor differentials.

With this in mind, design100 aims to deliver a platform of programs that will give recognition to emerging and established designers, increase the business acumen of design professionals and the design literacy of the general design public, give a voice to the market and create legacy that is publicly accessible.
