DARREN LONGBOTTOM TO SHOWCASE WORK AT GORGEOUS FESTIVAL
Address: McLaren Vale
Date: 22-23 November 2013
Known for his panoramic landscape and ocean images, Darren has teamed up with Gorgeous Festival organisers to display a stunning portrayal of some of the best landscapes the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula has to offer from both land andsea.
"From Port Noarlunga to Port Elliot and beyond I believe we are privileged to live in such a beautiful place, with endless land and seascapes It is a great opportunity to represent them in a contemporary way".
"The panoramic photographs have been captured in stunning medium format film where beautiful detailed enlargements have been created and framed to give you the best possible photographic expression of the Fleurieu." For the viewer some of the larger prints will make it feel like you're right there for the ride at the precise moment in time. From a stroll along the Second Valley Jetty or a dip in the turquoise waters of Port Willunga, it will remind you of the stunning place the Fleurieu is.
"As the coast plays such a large role in the life of living on the Fleurieu it is also great to be able to represent some of the most beautiful areas from the water giving the viewer a unique perspective" Beyond the photograph, Darren also presents a stunning display alternative that moves away from the more mass produced presentation options. Using recycled or upcycled materials, a beautiful one-off artisan product is created which truly enhances the image and is likely to be the focal point of any space.
Not only will the viewer be transported to a place, it is done in a contemporary andsustainable way and the Gorgeous Festival is excited by the unique and beautiful portrayal that Darren's display will bring to the grounds of the two day Gorgeous Festival.
All displayed framed prints will be for sale over the two day period and an opportunity to meet Darren and check out his interesting range of camera equipment will also be available.
With the beautiful music, photographic display of the Fleurieu and great food, 2013 Gorgeous Festival is not to be missed.
