Dani Scarcella - Makeup Artist

BY Dani Scarcella | 28-Sep-2012
Dani Scarcella has had a life-long love affair with the beauty industry. Dani loves the creative freedom that being a makeup artist allows her and she flourishes because of her special attention to detail. She credits her natural artistic talents to her mother and maternal grandfather who helped inspire and develop her skills in painting and freehand drawing. A passion for creativity is what inspired Dani to pursue art as a major through school, allowing her to develop her natural talents further.

Dani also attributes the fascination that she has with human emotions, personalities and life experiences to the many antidotes she was told by her father involving the career he excelled at for many years as a New York City Homicide Detective. She brings her dynamic personality to her work, balancing dedication and professionalism with fun and creativity.

Naturally, Dani attended two of New Yorks top notch schools in the industry. Empire Cosmetology School is where she obtained her initial cosmetology training and license. She then continued her educational experience at Makeup Designory (MUD), where she enrolled in their Multimedia Program. At MUD, Dani obtained a solid foundation in the essential skills and makeup artistry techniques required to work as a fashion makeup artist with hairstyling expertise. Dani is competent in all areas of the industry, whether it be the intricacies of prosthetics to the delicacy of beauty.

Prior to MUD, Dani obtained six years of professional experience working for a well- known photography studio and hair salon as lead hair and makeup artist.

Some of Dani's recent freelancing highlight credits include: working as a makeup artist for an upcoming show called Celebrity Sound Off that is set to launch later in the year, key hair and makeup artist to Nicole Winhoffer, Madonna's personal trainer and dance coordinator for an editorial spread in Uptempo Magazine, key hair and makeup artist for a Garnier Fructis commerical for their "Live Fearless" campaign, and working as a hair stylist at The Glam Factory with famed photographer, Alexa Prisco, star of The Style Network's Jerseylicious and The Glam Fairy.

Dani loves the expression, freedom and possibilities that makeup provides from creating a complete transformation to enhancing pure and simple beauty. She expects her career to be a continued success.
