Lucy has always been that agreeable, tidy, cupcake-baking girl who never makes others uncomfortable. Now in her 30s, Lucy can no longer avoid the downsides of being nice. Nor can she put off any longer that whole teenage rebellion' thing she skipped (much to her parents delight) back in 90s Geelong. It's finally time to cut loose, all whilst staying true to herself "“ whoever that is.

In her new show, Cutting Loose, Lucy Horan examines the drive to define oneself and the challenge this presents for the good girls' - women who get by through likability and extrinsic praise. While the advantages of always being nice are many, Cutting Loose politely ponders whether they ultimately hold us back from achieving our own awesomeness.

Lucy Horan is a Melbourne-based improviser and comedian who performs with The Big Hoo-Haa! and The Improv Conspiracy. Cutting Loose features original songs, with a wide range of music styles ranging from ballads and pop to musical theatre and maybe even a bit of beat poetry. With Rainer Pollard on piano, directed by Fiona-Scott Norman.

Cutting Loose opens 19 November 2018 and runs for six nights until 24 November 2018. Bookings recommended.
