The Age 4 Stars Promising high adventure, sock-puppets, slapstick and cameos from Jesus and John Lennon, Cut Snake is a rollercoaster comedy about growing up, dying young, and being extraordinary no matter what. Following sell-out seasons at the 2011 Melbourne and Sydney Fringe Festivals, Theatre Works (2013), Brisbane Festival and a regional tour of Victoria Cut Snake returns to St Kilda for a stricly limited season. Kiki, Bob and Jumper are best friends with big dreams – they’re gonna master time travel, romance a talking snake and dance the tango on Mt Kilimanjaro, even if it kills them. Can you ever get over the death of a loved one – especially a teenager? How do you live an extraordinary life in an ordinary world? How do you maintain connection with your friends? How can you look to the future with hope when the adult world seems so depressing? Cut Snake explores these questions in a truthful and complex way. Three actors present multiple characters in a performance that includes physical theatre, dance, direct address, character transformation and cross-gender casting. Promising high adventure, sock-puppets, slapstick and cameos from Jesus and John Lennon, Cut Snake is a rollercoaster comedy about growing up, dying young, and being extraordinary no matter what.
