Creative Spaces website in Sydney

BY Jacqui Bonner Marketing | 26-Oct-2012
In their ongoing work to assist artists and the creative industries in finding space, the City of Sydney today announced that it has become the first licensee of the Creative Spaces website, www.creativespaces.net.au

This unique portal is designed to help artists and creative enterprises find a suitable space to develop, exhibit or perform their work. The website is a free classifieds-style site matching property owners to spaces for hire, lease, to share or to occupy. The website was initially developed through a partnership between City of Melbourne, Arts Victoria and RMIT and has been hugely successful, attracting over 130,700 visits during 2011. The main elements of the website include: A search function for finding listings of creative spaces available for hire.

The listings are searchable by state, metro or regional area, or space usage (e.g. dance studio, community hall, hot desk, artist studio). An interactive map showing the locations of creative spaces across Australia. Case studies focusing on different creative spaces, outlining how the spaces were developed. Resources including fact sheets, information on Public Liability Insurance, useful links and a Creative Spaces FAQ. The City of Sydney welcomes commercial property owners and creative industries alike to join the website, submit listings and join the database. www.creativespaces.net.au
