Andrew Burrell will take you through the foundations of Processing (an open-source and well documented platform for developing creative projects both small and large).

The weekend will cover:
The fundamentals of coding that can then be applied and expanded upon in the participants' own projects
Looking at fun, iterative and practice based approaches to working with code
Examples of code based works and how they were created
The use of a 'creative coding' philosophy, where the process and outcome are more important than 'strict coding rules'
The development of a small project which could form the basis of ongoing research and practice
An opportunity on the second day for participants to discuss projects they have in mind to get feedback on the best possible
approach Before attending, participants should download and install Processing on their laptop as well as looking through the Processing gallery to see some examples of what Processing makes possible.

Participants should bring a laptop, note pad and a pen/pencil.
