CIRCUS OZ BIG TOP SEASON IN MELBOURNE – But Wait…There’s More Season: 17 June – 12 July 2015 We’ve toured the world will and tumble back into our hometown with a return season After being on the road from Melbourne to Mildura; Penrith to Palm Island; an international tour across America and a season at Montreal’s legendary circus venue, La Tohu; the very first show created in the new Circus Oz Collingwood home, But Wait…There’s More, returns to Birrarung Marr this winter under the heated Circus Oz Big Top from 17 June – 12 July 2015. Melbourne’s own world-famous Circus Oz ensemble are on the top of their game, and feature a creative bunch of 12 fabulous weirdos including graceful men, strong women, incredibly intricate and innovative jugglers, lyrical and virtuosic unicyclers, brazen hula hoopers, hilarious flying trapeze artists, booty-shaking hip-hoppers, highly-musical-acrobats and highly-acrobatic-musicians. Featuring exuberant live circus performances presented at increased velocity, But Wait…There’s More is also a satirical look at today’s culture of infobesity and consumer overload around all the STUFF, STUFF and STUFF (but wait…there’s more – STUFF).

In true Circus Oz style, where collaboration, multi-skilling and invention are part of daily life, But Wait…There’s More has continued to develop and tighten as the ensemble refine their ideas, play with interludes and importantly craft their performances in response to audience reactions. But Wait…There’s More was created from scratch last year with the addition of lots of newly recruited ensemble members under the direction of Circus Oz Artistic Director, Mike Finch, and Circus Oz Touring Show Director, Debra Batton with a world-class team of designers: costume (Laurel Frank), lighting (Paul Jackson), inflatable set (Felipe Reynolds) props (Michael Baxter) and song writing (Casey Benneto). Circus Oz Artistic Director, Mike Finch, explains that Melbourne is the only city that will experience the return season of But Wait…There’s More, and reflects on why Circus Oz unique for so many reasons, “… the camaraderie of the ensemble, the big group acts, the strong women, the live original music, the irreverent comedy, the raucous physicality, the Big Top, the all-ages show with something for everyone, even the thinking grown-ups … all are signature aspects of Circus Oz that also happen to showcase some of the best things about being Australian.”

“This is that rarest of beasts: a performance that everybody can enjoy.” Brisbane Times (September 2014) Exploding on to the stage with more energy than a rave party, Circus Oz’s new show But Wait ... There’s More definitely didn’t disappoint … this is one of the only shows I’ve seen this year that is truly “must see”, no matter your age and persuasion.” Cairns Post (October 2014) “Mind-blowing performance by the brash and brilliant troupe known as Circus Oz … if you weren’t lucky enough to catch Circus Oz on its 2015 trip to Champaign, you most definitely need to plan ahead for their next visit.” Urbana USA (February 2015)
