Last year the Sydney Eisteddfod Festival held more than 15 choir events and nearly 40 choir groups took part in the John Lamble Foundation Australasian Championships for Primary/Infant, Youth and Open Age Choirs.

Participants of the Championships have the chance to win their share of the combined $25,500 prize pool. And the very best groups who perform at the Championships will be invited to battle it out at the Australian Choral Grand Prix for the tittle of best choir in Australia and total prizes worth $20,000.

The 2016 Australian Choral Grand Prix winners Endeavour Harmony Chorus won the crowd over with their rendition of Queen's Somebody to Love, Coldplay's Fix You and Ruiz & Gimbel's Sway in a packed event hosted by TV personality Andrew O"Keefe.

Sydney Eisteddfod has a total prize pool of more than $400,000 and hosts an average of 350 yearly events in eight categories. Participants have the chance to perform in excellent venues, build confidence, form bonds with peers in a fun and friendly competitive environment and receive feedback from the leading industry professionals selected to be event judges in 2017.

The 2017 John Lamble Foundation Australasian Championships for Primary/Infant, Youth and Open Age Choirs are on June 4 at Sydney Grammar School. The Australian Choral Grand Prix is on August 20 at Sydney Grammar School.

Entries are open now and close on March 13. A full list of events and conditions are available at www.sydneyeisteddfod.com.au. While late entries will be accepted (space permitting), additional fees apply.
