Chihuly for Pulse Orlando

Published by: The Offstream | 15-Jul-2016
Help us bring @Chihuly to #PulseOrlando to build an installation in memory of the victims of 6.12.16 and to bring back light and energy to the grounds of S Orange Avenue, FL.
In memory of the victims and in effort to support all of those who were effected- their loved ones, the people of Orlando, FL, and the entire LGBT community. Chihuly's installations have been all over the world and are universally liked by everyone due to their vibrant colors, craftsmanship and aesthetic. Dale's passion seeps through his work. Art has the power to bring comfort and in doing so we aim to aid the healing process of the victims friends and family and the LGBT community globally. Rather than live in fear, we should support one another and honor love. Orlando is the first stop. It is in the United States, where Dale Chihuly and his team are based. Our hope is that if this becomes successful, we can continue this mission to install his artwork in places where there has been recent shootings or bombings by Daesh. Example- in Istanbul at the airport or Dhaka at the Holey Artisan Bakery cafe. This would fuel people to return to these places to look at Chihuly's work and in doing so, would bring life back to these places. The horrible events of Daesh have touched us deeply as the victims could have been anyone of us. Let us never forget. Art is one of the greatest means of consolidation and healing. Dale's work has so much light and vibrancy, we believe this can help greatly with the healing process.
