If you've never seen Theatresports® before then you really don't know what it's like to be scared scriptless! It's on-the-spot, seat-of-the-pants comedy, performed at the highest level of skill and miraculous comedy timing. In a series of hilarious games, challenges and comedy skits "“ from songs and poems to scenes in all kinds of styles - teams compete for laughs and the judge's scores. It's terrifying, it's brilliant and it always plays to a sell-out crowd!

This year's show is raising money for Impro Australia's new Indigenous Theatresports Youth Fund "“ aimed at bringing free Theatresports shows and training to indigenous youth across the state. The first project starts in October at the Redfern Community Centre with plans to extend to the rest of Sydney, regional NSW and remote communities.

Theatresports helps kids build their confidence, communication skills, problem-solving skills, work effectively as a team & adapt to change. And it doesn't require sets, sound or lighting to perform so they can easily put on shows to raise money in their local communities. And bring everyone together for fun & laughter.

This year's guests include Dean Haglund (The X-Files), Alex Lee (The Checkout, Election Chaser), Jay Laga'aia (Star Wars eps 2 & 3, Home & Away, Play School, Lion King), Bjorn Stewart (Black Comedy), Indigenous composer ("Pecan Summer") and opera star Deborah Cheetham AO, Darren Gilshenan (Here Come The Habibs, No Activity, The Moodys), Matthew Mitcham (Olympic gold medal winning diver), Sean Choolburra (stand-up comedy legend, dancer, singer & didgeridoo master), Nicola Parry & Daniel Cordeaux (Thank God You're Here), Celeste Barber (How Not to Behave, Instagram superstar), Dr Jioji Ravulo (Pizza, Housos vs Authority, youth & social worker) and Bridie Connell from the newly announced Aussie edition of Whose Line is It Anyway? Celebrity judges include Larissa Behrendt (2011 NSW Australian of the Year, Aboriginal rights activist, novelist and first indigenous grad from Harvard Law School) and actor/activist Pastor Ray Minniecon. Plus a slew of impro comedy legends, champions all. This is improvised comedy at its biggest & best!
