Bri Clark's voice has the ability to both shatter and heal.
Since gifting the local scene with her seemingly unassuming debut single Never Far Enough' in 2015 and WAM nominated follow up Shiver', the rising Perth singer-songwriter has garnered industry attention and a legion of dedicated fans alike, each captivated by her haunting melodies and arresting vocals. Now, the destined talent is thrilled to finally reveal her anticipated new single Giving Up' "“ a brooding pop ballad that has already piqued interest after been shortlisted for the 2018 Vanda & Young Songwriting competition ahead of its official release Wednesday 26 September.

With a wealth of wisdom beyond her years and a resonance that carries well beyond the final note, Giving Up' sees Bri Clark at her most heartfelt yet. Pouring equal parts pain and resolve into every phrase, Bri reflects on a crumbling relationship, desperately seeking the courage to either stay or leave. From soft, beckoning guitar strumming to soaring heights of layered vocal harmonies, driving piano and bursting percussion, Giving Up' is an exquisite taste of Bri Clark's unique power to use her own ache as a comforting shoulder.

Working closely with producer Jono Steer (Ainslie Wills, Ben Abraham), the track was recorded across The Mill Castlemaine, Vision Studios Perth, and Head Gap Studios Melbourne, and mastered by Joe Carra at Crystal Mastering, with additional instrumentation from Leigh Fisher (drums), Lawrence Folvig (guitar) and some incredible horns and strings players.

"I wrote Giving Up' about watching a relationship break down when the best thing to do is leave but all you want to do is stay, pleading with yourself to give it one more try. I was very excited when it was shortlisted for the Vanda & Young songwriting comp, what an honour to be one among the incredible talent on that shortlist." "“ Bri Clark

As an inaugural recipient of APRA's female songwriter mentorship in 2018, Bri Clark has had the opportunity to work and collaborate with a spread of fellow musicians and industry professionals and most recently featured on the well-received single What We've Done' by Angus Dawson. Fresh off the back of the APRA AMCOS SongHubs intensive song writing boot camp and a standout performance at Bigsound's Songwriter Showcase, Bri will play a short run of live shows in her home state including a festival performance at the annual WAMFest.

With her debut EP on the horizon and a rapidly growing repertoire of collaborative experience under her belt, Bri Clark is fast becoming a noteworthy name within Australian music. Expect big things.
