Bombino at The Foundry

Published by: Heapsaflash | 1-Nov-2018
Omara "Bombino" Moctar, a guitarist and songwriter from the North African Tuareg, grew up during a period of armed struggle for independence and violent repression by government forces.
Venue: Brisbane: The Foundry, Mullimbimby: Mullum Music Festival, Sydney: The Lansdowne, Adelaide: Jive, Hobart: Republic Bar, Melbourne: Howler, Queenscliff: Queenscliff Music Festival
Date: Starts 15 November at The Foundry Brisbane.
That background resounds in his desert blues: exciting jams that breathe the spirit of resistance and rebellion, with echoing guitar riffs reminiscent of other Africans like Tinariwen and Ali Farka Touré, but also Jimi Hendrix, John Lee Hooker and Jimmy Page. On his new album 'Deran' Bombino shows his musical talents again. You get an adventurous palette of folk, rock, blues and funk in this album.

Bombino is playing these shows from across Australia:

Friday 16 & Saturday 17 November @ Mullum Music Festival, Mullumbimby NSW
Sunday 18 November @ The Lansdowne, Sydney NSW
Thursday 22 November @ Jive, Adelaide SA
