Blacktown Arts Centre is pleased to present the world premiere of a brand-new multi-disciplinary contemporary performance work, Disaffected, showcased at the venue from 17th to 20th March.

Disaffected is about the vulnerability of our planet. In the past 20 years, the weather has killed over 600,000 people worldwide. Disaffected tells the human story of how natural catastrophes are affecting communities across the Pacific. It explores the resilience of people living on the frontline of disaster. What is the emotional, physical and economic toll of continually rebuilding a community? How do communities find small pockets of hope amid the devastation that surrounds them?

Set in an emergency evacuation centre, the audience will experience before, during and after a natural disaster. Using arresting imagery, movement and stories, the show is highly charged, unavoidably dirty and utterly affecting.
