This amusing and engaging theatre experience will bring Systems Science to life by placing the audience in charge of planning, programming and managing their own music festival - everything from coordinating portaloos to selecting headlining acts!

In the intimate setting of the Seymour Centre Sound Lounge, up to 30 audience members will converge for a series of interactive games that explore System Science and aim to keep the festival from collapsing into chaos.

The audience will take charge of designing, constructing and managing their festival including controlling rowdy campsite parties, assembling band lineups, dealing with artist tantrums and preventing mosh pit fights.

Best Festival Ever: How to Manage a Disaster will see audience members respond to the rapidly escalating challenges of the situation requiring cooperation, creativity and communication.

Following the festival planning, the audience will have the opportunity to discuss the outcome with special guest scientists from The University of Sydney"s Complex Systems Research Group. The discussion will offer an insight into complex decision-making and management systems, as well as processes for managing these systems in everyday life.

This work has been supported by Coney, University College London, Tipping Point, NEDNet Foundation, Arts House, Arts NSW and the Australia Council for the Arts.
