Still Life with sand and Marbles Catherine Ketton
Art can be an instrument that enables the body to slow down, enabling the eye and mind to take in the intricate elements of life.

Life can become a blur of action, - work running from here to there with no time to take in the finer things, - the things that add colour, texture, form, value and excitement to life. Marc Chagall said:

The dignity of the artist lies in his duty of keeping awake the sense of wonder in the World'

The still life painting has always been a way to capture a moment, a mood, a story. Catherine's work does this extremely well. Her work is crisp and detailed, the subjects beautifully selected, and the finished result is breath taking.

On the other side of the spectrum, as a three-dimensional artist my work is more like the objects that could be cast in a still life painting. From the jars of shells, liquorice all sorts and the coral wall I hope to inspire you to take notice of the details.

Through this exhibition the senses are provided with an opportunity to embrace a fuller life with art at its heart.

Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday Life'. “ Picasso
