Art can be an instrument that enables the body to slow down, enabling the eye and mind to take in the intricate elements of life.

Life can become a blur of action, - work running from here to there with no time to take in the finer things, - the things that add colour, texture, form, value and excitement to life. Marc Chagall said:

The dignity of the artist lies in his duty of keeping awake the sense of wonder in the World'

The still life painting has always been a way to capture a moment, a mood, a story. Catherine's work does this extremely well. Her work is crisp and detailed, the subjects beautifully selected, and the finished result is breath taking.

On the other side of the spectrum, as a three-dimensional artist my work is more like the objects that could be cast in a still life painting. From the jars of shells, liquorice all sorts and the coral wall I hope to inspire you to take notice of the details.

Through this exhibition the senses are provided with an opportunity to embrace a fuller life with art at its heart.
