Showing at Dancehouse for 6 nights only, Whiplash is the award winning Scott Wings at his triumphant best. A hilarious and blistering portrayal of modern masculinity bottled into neurotic poetry and movement.

"I'd been arguing with myself, watching too much Rick & Morty, going back through old Magic Schoolbus books and wondered what would happen if I disappeared into my own body. Could I actually meet my heart? My brain?" Whiplash is an ode to the battles for identity and the way we construct our self image. "It felt crucial to speak about the human form in all its imperfections. A lot of people are asking us, asking men - what are you doing, what's going on? And it's a hard question to answer. It can be hard to step up. But if we don't do the hard yards, really dig down into ourselves, we may find someone else is answering for us."

Whiplash is a battle for the body. Saying yes to too much ice cream and sleeping in. Saying no to too much ice cream and going to the gym. A proud proclamation of "I don't know! Help?" Scott Wings has been building a reputation in Melbourne as a unique, hilarious and visceral poetic performer since his move from Brisbane in 2016. Whiplash is his newest one-man show since COLOSSI and Icarus Falling. Scott Wings is the winner of the Best New Theatre award at Adelaide Fringe, nominated for a Total Theatre Award at Edinburgh Fringe and is a Performance Poetry World Cup title holder.

Whiplash opens on TUESDAY 25 SEPTEMBER and runs for 6 nights only. Bookings recommended.
