One of the surprise Australian indie hits of recent years has been this lovely ensemble piece.

Set in the always energetic, diverse and multicultural suburb of Footscray, Pawno revolves around one day in the lives of twelve characters. The film is set in an ageing pawnbrokers show and at the core of the story beats a romance, yet love is rarely simple. Within a day, lives intersect and motives are examined. This multi-layered story celebrates the rawness of humanity and challenges audiences to see the world from a different view.

With a was that includes some of Australia's most recognised faces alongside the newer, we're treated to outstanding performances from John Brumpton, Kerry Armstrong, Maeve Darmody, Damian Hill, Mark Coles Smith and Malcolm Kennard.
