More than 20 artists who've been working with the Sydney-based ArtSHINE industries team will be heading to New York City to boost awareness and network with clients and other exhibitors at Surtex, the global B2B marketplace for sourcing original art & design.
ArtSHINE, headed by cofounders Vinh Van Lam and Stuart Horrex, have over the past five years, been searching and developing a portfolio of artists, and representing them to find suitable manufacturers, companies, art directors who want to license their art and design.
ArtSHINE will be representing Australia at Surtex which runs from May 20-22.
"It is a great opportunity for our talented pool of artists and designers to be promoted on the world stage and it can't get any bigger than Surtex," commented Vinh Van Lam.
ArtSHINE launched a project five years back called “Quirk" to discover new artists with unique art, styles and techniques. They were then introduced to the company's Accelerator and Launch Pad programs to assist in their art practice and commercialise their art. Artists from the Accelerator Program include Anthony Van Lam, Carrie Webster, Gabby Malpas, Georgia Patton, Helen Dubrovich, Kristine Ballard, Pattern by Design, and Sillier Than Sally.
The Launch Pad Program include artists: Amy Clarke, Arvee Gibson, Emel Jurd, Girija Kulkarni, James Mathurin, Jill Yates, Jim Chen, John Klein, Julia Townsend, Julie Ellitt, Marina Strijakova, Marie Widolf, Melissa Read Devine, Nathan Seabolt, Olga Kolesnik, Sami Woods, Sergio Sill , and Tony Edwards.

"At ArtSHINE, our mission is to promote and help artists to build a sustainable art practice, create a residual income, and pursue their lives with passion and true purpose."
Now in its 32nd year, Surtex is the global B2B marketplace for sourcing original art and design—where artists, art agents, designers, licensors and art agencies connect with manufacturers and retailers to create the next best-selling products in every category imaginable.
Thousands of buyers, licensees, manufacturers and retailers, converge on the Surtex show floor to buy or license the newest designs and patterns from approximately 200 exhibitors representing independent artists, agencies and global design studios – hundreds of trend-setting artists.
The exhibition, to be held at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, is a veritable who’s who of manufacturers and retailers seeking the best original art and design being created today.
