Artfelt Art Prize is now in it's 3rd year

BY Artfelt Art Prize | 18-Jun-2012
Artists are invited to submit works in all mediums responding to the theme 'On light and darkness' and all artists will be rewarded with promotion of their work online and in a commemorative book published at the completion of the exhibitions. This year the Gala Opening for the Finalists exhibition will be hosted in the historic Northern Rivers Community Gallery in Ballina on September 7th 6pm-8pm. There will also be a 'Salon de Refuse' exhibition hosted at the iconic Serpentine Gallery in Lismore.

"As founder & Project Coordinator of the event, I'm very proud of the achievements reached so far in this art prize where outstanding art meets social purpose as all funds go to support the work of Heartfelt House, a charity organisation located in Northern NSW dedicated to providing support to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. As a survivor myself, I was inspired and healed so much by the program offered at Heartfelt House that I simply had to give back and so the Artfelt Art Prize was born and now has launched again for 2012." Jacqueline King

Importantly our international connections with Elaan in India and Drawing Hope International in the US, both organisations dedicated to providing support to adult survivors, will mean we look forward to international entries putting the Northern Rivers and our amazing community of artists on the map abroad!

Our judging panel this year includes Susi Muddiman, Director of Tweed River Art Gallery, Brett Adlington, Director Lismore Regional Gallery and Emeritus Professor Judy Atkinson, who retains strong links with Southern Cross University Gnibi College will be our 3rd Judge and Special Guest announcing the winners of this years Artfelt Art Prize at the Gala Opening.
