ARTEXPRESS is an annual series of exhibitions of exemplary artworks created by New South Wales visual arts students for the Higher School Certificate examination.

For the thirteenth consecutive year, ARTEXPRESS at the Armory will be presented at Sydney Olympic Park, every day from Tuesday 28 February - Tuesday 25 April 2017 (inclusive).

With FREE daily entry between 10am-4pm at the Armory Gallery, ARTEXPRESS at the Armory 2017 is the largest of all metropolitan ARTEXPRESS displays, showcasing the works of 59 young artists from schools across New South Wales.

As the arts and culture hub of western Sydney, the Armory Gallery features the largest continuous gallery wall in Australia and plenty of open space to accommodate all art forms and media.

The 2017 collection spans a broad range of expressive media forms including painting, photo-media, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, graphic design, documented forms, textiles and fabrics, ceramics and time-based forms.

Assembled for the sixth consecutive year by respected curator Danielle Gullotta, the works featured in this year"s exhibition are linked by the theme Wild Things.

"Wild Things encapsulates the youthful energy and spirited expressiveness of the artists and highlights the rigorous experimentation involved in the bodies of work.

"Wild Things presents a survey of artists that have found inspiration from the untamed wilderness, natural phenomenon, the animal world, human entangled relationships and the structures of contemporary society," said Ms Gullotta.

ARTEXPRESS at the Armory 2017 will include FREE Curator talks on 5 March and 23 April at 2pm, as well as FREE kids" ARTEXPRESS-inspired art and craft workshops on the 13 and 18 April.

Visitors will have the chance to vote for their favourite artwork, with a $500 Qudos Bank Arena voucher to be given to the "People"s Choice Award" winner.

With nearby FREE car parking at Blaxland Riverside Park, the Armory Gallery is located at Building 18 at Newington Armory, accessible via Jamieson St at Sydney Olympic Park.
