Award-winning artist Anya Anastasia is back, bringing a fierce, fresh, and tightly choreographed new breed of contemporary comedy cabaret to the stage. Headlining a season of 19 shows at Gasworks Arts Park's Melbourne Fringe Southside Hub, 'Anya Anastasia: The Executioners' is an award-winning production that cuts close to the bone, skilfully dismembering the world's political and social current affairs.

Alongside musical-partner-in-crime, Gareth Chin, this hard-hitting, clever show articulates the social discomfort and disconnect that now reigns supreme. It's time to unleash the fury. It's cabaret, but not as you know it. And yes, there is a fight scene.

"Wearing your politics on your sleeve is scarier than taking your clothes off in front of people, and it's more controversial", explains Anastasia.

"Anya Anastasia: The Executioners is a thrilling new vehicle for me. I'm using my craft to provoke conversations I want the world to be having. The show is laying naked the truth of about technological overindulgence and the sensory overload in daily life, and trying to combat the sense of helplessness in the face of big issues."

Combining live music, fight scenes and a digital score with innovative filmic elements, 'Anya Anastasia: The Executioners' is a season not to be missed at the Southside Hub this Melbourne Fringe.

A sassy chanteuse with a vivid and somewhat twisted imagination, Anya Anastasia has traversed the globe, appearing at festivals in Europe, around Australia, and New Zealand. Nominated for Best Music (Dunedin Fringe) and Spirit of the Fringe Award (Prague Fringe), other well-known works include 'Tort e Mort, Rogue Romantic', 'The Upside Down Girl', 'The Bird Wizdom Cabaret' and 'Violet Rapscallion: A Stray Cabaret'.

WINNER - Made in Adelaide Edinburgh Award (Adelaide Fringe, 2018)
WINNER - Best Cabaret (Adelaide Fringe Weekly Awards, 2018)
WINNER - Critic's Choice (Adelaide Fringe Weekly Awards, 2018)
