Kati Thamo's narratively rich prints record her lifelong observations of the natural world. In her current exhibition she asks us to forgo our human-centric world view and explore life through another language - the gaze of a kestrel, the presence of an owl, the songmaking of a butcherbird - where sensation confounds description. Kati hopes to shift our perspective by rejecting the dichotomy of human and nature, inviting the realms to intermingle. As ecosystems enter an increasingly precarious state of being, she emphasises the need to change our engagement with the natural world. Kati has been the recipient of many printmaking awards and her works are represented in public collections Australia wide.
