Meet the nominees for this year's Woman of the Year award. Who will win? The audience decides.

In a time where female equality and liberation are top talking points comes a refreshingly light-hearted and charming character comedy celebrating entertaining, endearing and empowered women.

Hailing from London, Anna Nicholson brings her critically acclaimed solo show to Adelaide Fringe for her Australian debut. Award-winning BBC sitcom writer James Cary (Miranda, My Family) provided creative development and script oversight for the show. Nicholson was also selected to develop her show as part of the Soho Theatre Young Company, receiving mentorship and guidance from Soho Theatre artists and other leading industry professionals.

Through a combination of monologue, sketch and song, Nicholson introduces the audience to four characters who are all competing to win the Woman of the Year award. Meet Denise, a rather unhinged bra saleswoman; Bianca, an Instagram star offering millennial advice; Reverend Ruth, a vicar with a rival; and Shirley, an elderly woman with a mischievous nature.

No two shows are the same, as the audience decides which character wins the prestigious Woman of the Year award.

Nicholson says: 'I aim to make comedy that unites an audience over a shared experience and celebrates both the good bits and the flaws that make us human. I want to make shows full of heart and warmth, and that are above all, funny.'
