Affordability a Major Drawcard for 2018 Adelaide Fringe Event Registrations

Published by: Adelaide Fringe | 16-Aug-2017
Event registrations are now open for the 2018 Adelaide Fringe, which is set to be Australia"s most affordable Fringe festival for artists to participate in.
Adelaide Fringe is calling on performers, musicians, visual artists, arts organisations and event producers from across the globe to register their event for next year"s festival.

For the first time, artists will pay no inside charges for tickets under $35 and only half the inside charge for tickets over $35 thanks to $1 million of funding from the State Government.

Adelaide Fringe Director and CEO Heather Croall said she hoped the incentive would encourage more artists to sign up - especially those trialling new, cutting edge work.

"We wouldn"t be the largest arts festival in Australia without the support of the thousands of artists who register each year. By reducing the inside charges, we"re ensuring our hard-working artists have more in their pockets at the end of the festival," Ms Croall said.

"Being an open access festival means anyone from anywhere can put on a Fringe show, so we"re anticipating another diverse line-up of surprising and ground-breaking shows in 2018."

The 2017 Adelaide Fringe attracted more than 5200 artists across more than 1100 events covering a wide range of genres.

Events can be registered under various categories including cabaret, children"s events, circus and physical theatre, comedy, dance, film, music, special events, theatre or visual art.

Registrations for Fringe events and venues are open until Wednesday, October 4, at 5pm.
