A Spectacular Christmas Spectacular: to raise funds for School of Hard Knocks arts and cultural programs for the disadvantaged

Do you want to lift your spirits with the best, biggest and brightest Christmas concert in town, and support the School of Hard Knocks? Then come to our inspirational, uplifting and dazzling Spectacular Christmas Spectacular concert, on Saturday December 13th at Melbourne Town Hall, commencing at 7.30pm. The concert will be conducted and compered by the Founding Artistic Director of the School of Hard Knocks, Dr Jonathon Welch AM who will be joined by a stellar cast!

The concert will be conducted and compered by the Founding Artistic Director of the School of Hard Knocks, Dr Jonathon Welch AM. Jonathon will be joined by a stellar cast including Rosamund Illing, Roxane Hislop, Danielle Matthews, the Footscray-Yarraville City Band and David Johnstone at the magnificent Town Hall Organ!

This concert features the ARIA, Helpmann and Logie award winning Choir of Hope & Inspiration, THECHO!R, Hallelujah Gospel Chorus and the Absolutely Everybody Massed Choir of 400 voices, featuring Voices of Brimbank, The Latrobe Valley Voices, All Together Choir, Western Voice Choir, The City of Casey Choir, Voices Without Borders asylum seeker choir and Voices of Frankston. The singers can’t wait to share their joy in being part of this vibrant and inclusive community and to sing with you!

Spectacular Christmas Spectacular will not only have you raise your voices with all your favourite carols, it will raise funds for the School of Hard Knocks to assist in providing arts, cultural and wellbeing programs for Melbourne's homeless and most disadvantaged. “The School is the culmination of my dream to expand our programs beyond the Choir of Hard Knocks and to engage the professional arts, education, welfare and volunteer sector to provide industry leading arts courses programs that will build pathways to further education and employment for those experiencing disadvantage" Jonathon explained.

“The School of Hard Knocks offers access to the best musicians, artists and opportunities for those in the disadvantaged sector, to not only build confidence and self-esteem, but also to build pathways to further education and employment opportunities".
