Access Arts Chief Executive, Pat Swell said the sky is the limit when it comes to the project each artist puts forward.

"The Access Arts Achievement Award was founded so artists with disability could excel in their careers and have an opportunity to follow their dreams, which may have been harder to reach without funding," Pat said.

"The Award is open to Queensland artists, arts workers and producers with disability working in any art form to create, develop, present, produce, exhibit or tour their work.

"Anyone who has a creative dream that just needs a leg up, this is for you! We are open to all projects, so whether you are a musician, dancer, painter, sketcher, crafter or designer, we want to hear from you."

Previous Award winners have come from across Queensland, from Cairns to the Gold Coast.

Now in its sixth year, the Access Arts Achievement Award has made a significant difference to the careers of its previous winners. From publishing books and producing music, to painting prints and designing clothing lines, each winner has used the funding and support from Access Arts to excel.

This year marks the first Award to be funded by disability support provider CPL - Choice, Passion, Life. CPL has committed to sponsoring the Award for the next ten years through a $100,000 investment.

"CPL shares our goal of ensuring people with disability have equal opportunities for success and inclusion," Pat said.

"We are incredibly grateful for their long-term commitment."

Applications for the Award will be assessed on the project's artistic merit, innovation, and opportunity for professional development. Submissions are open until 30 September. To apply, visit www.accessarts.org.au
