2019 Adelaide Fringe Offers Maximum Return from Sales to Registering Artists

Published by: Adelaide Fringe | 1-Aug-2018
Established and emerging artists from all over the world are invited to join in the fun and explore the amazing opportunities provided by Australia's largest arts festival, Adelaide Fringe.
Event registrations are open from today for the 2019 Adelaide Fringe, which will again offer maximum return from ticket sales, an arts marketplace for future bookings and dedicated staff to assist artists with their Fringe season.

For the 2018 Fringe, the festival removed inside charges on tickets under $35 and halved the inside fees for tickets above that price. This price structure will be repeated in 2019 and will mean more money going into artists' pockets at the end of their Fringe season.

Adelaide Fringe Director and CEO Heather Croall said the Adelaide Fringe aims to deliver a supportive and financially viable experience to artists.

"We offer a range of services to make sure the Fringe artists have as rewarding a season as possible," Ms Croall said.

"The Fringe devotes enormous energy and resources to trying to sell as many tickets as possible for artists across the program "“ we have improved our ticketing services even further for 2019 to help achieve that goal "“ and the Honey Pot arts marketplace offers Fringe artists opportunities for future bookings and touring.

"We are pleased that we can again promise no inside charges for tickets under $35 and reduced inside charges for tickets above that price. It means that the box office settlements will be around 10 per cent bigger than if those fees had not been reduced.

"The wonderful thing about our festival is that it is open access; anyone with an idea for a show can take to the stage and present their work to our enthusiastic and engaged Fringe audiences.

"Our team are here to help the experience of putting on a Fringe show as fruitful as possible.

"Every year our program offers such a variety of highly entertaining and incredibly inspiring events, and I can't wait to see what's in store for 2019!"

The 2018 Adelaide Fringe attracted nearly 7000 artists across 1231 events covering a wide range of genres "“ everything from cabaret, children's, circus/physical theatre and comedy to dance, events, film/digital, interactive, magic, music, theatre and visual art/design.

Registrations for 2019 Adelaide Fringe events and venues are open until September 26, 2018.
