To celebrate its 125-year history, Kingswood College has opened its extensive archives to put together an exhibition of what schooling was like at the college from the 1890s to today. Kingswood College traces back to New College, which opened on 4 February 1890 as a boys’ school in the rural agricultural community of Box Hill. The school is holding a series of events this year to celebrate its remarkable milestone including the 125 Years of Kingswood College exhibition on display at Box Hill Community Arts Centre from 14-26 April.

The exhibition features fascinating old photos, student notebooks, school textbooks, sporting equipment, uniforms and more. The former New College became coeducational in 1933, which was unheard of at the time in mainstream church schools in Victoria. The school was renamed to Kingswood College in 1965. The 125 Years of Kingswood College exhibition opening is on Tuesday 14 April at 4pm.
