Happening in Newtown, Enmore and Marrickville in September 2012, The Sydney Fringe is a look underneath to the urban and the unconventional. Artists and people of wealth travelled through Europe, in particular Italy, during the 17th and 18th centuries. The Grand Tour allowed visitors to the great cities to enrich themselves with the art and culture that was there for their delectation. Turin, Venezia, Padua, Florence, Rome and Bologna were all key stops along the Grand Tour route. Since May 2011 l have been living in Bologna, traveling to such places, and other smaller cities and towns; painting, drawing, and visiting the many museums and churches.

Australia will be taking on the world’s best at the ‘Olympics’ of street painting when Chalk Urban Art Festival champion Jenny McCracken travels to Italy for the historic 40th anniversary of the competition next month. Jenny will be competing against the world's best at Grazie di Curtatone, home of the world’s original street painting festival, accompanied by a film crew who will make a documentary of her journey to be screened in 2013. With her on the trip will be Chalk Urban Art Festival founder and director Andi Mether, and filmmakers Claire Balart and Shaun Flaherty.
