Double Take, White Rabbit Gallery, opening Aug. 31 The White Rabbit Gallery's new exhibition, Double Take, is in part a birthday celebration. As the Sydney art museum turns three, it is taking a look back as well as forward, mixing new pieces with some of the most popular works from earlier shows. Gallery manager Paris Neilson says the double-take theme works on two levels. "Where people have seen an artwork before, they'll see it in a new context this time, and that will add a whole new dimension. And with all the works we've chosen, there's a sense of 'This isn't what it seems to be.' You think, 'Hang on, what did I just see?' And you look again."

‘CTA-F’ is short for ‘CONTEXTART-FORUM’ – a week-long celebration of arts and crafts held in autumn in the mid-Blue Mountains - the first in 2012 and was so successful that this is now an on-going initiative of TAFTA, a long standing not-for-profit organisation. Dates for 2013 are 13-19 April with two venues used: Korowal School Hazelbrook and Springwood High School, Faulconbridge. A few workshops are offered for two days or four days only. Some are run as a full 6-day workshop option due to subject matter and time needed. But most tutors offer both a 2-day AND a 4-day workshop. The EARLY BIRD price of $85/day is available to December 1, 2012. Then costs rise to $95/day. See website www.tafta.org.au to obtain an Enrolment Form or email firstname.lastname@example.org to ask for one.
