BY Gabrielle Jones | 05-Apr-2013

Something Natural But Very Childish at the Old Fitz

BY Julie Baz | 01-Apr-2013

A unique piece of theatre that carefully explores several short stories by Katherine Mansfield. Combining classic drawing room comedy, surrealism and knife-edge Chekhovian like drama, Abrahams delicately weaves moments from the stories together, using wicked doses of humour and suspense to create a rich tapestry that darts and dives around three pairs of would-be lovers in Edwardian England, and the bitter hope that keeps them bound to each other.

Nikky Morgan-Smith - Shaping Water and Brigid Ryan - Embodying Landscape

BY Anthea Polson Art | 30-Mar-2013

Please join us for the official opening on Saturday April 20 from 6-9pm. All are welcome. Nikky Morgan-Smith: The art of Morgan-Smith might well be thought of as embodying Klee's notion of unleashing the wanderings of the subconscious through gestural freedom. In her works drawing and painting unite to express a host of often fantastic, metamorphic imagery set amidst vapory bathrooms.

Brigid Ryan: Part landscape, part figuration, Ryan's paintings bring together a multiplicity of things seen, felt and remembered. There is a feeling for the interconnectedness of all things and a sense of humanity as we enter her experiential response to place. Brigid describes her works as a kind of anthropomorphism of landscape.

BY Stephen Bradley | 28-Mar-2013
