Once upon a time there was a young woman who fell madly in love with a prince and they lived happily ever after! This is not that story.

Fresh from touring Australia with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow and Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase tours, and killing it in the Los Angeles at comedy scene, stand up comic Nikki Britton returns this year with her latest and greatest solo hour, 'Nikki Britton is Romanticide' - running from the 30th of March until the 23rd of April at Melbourne’s iconic Forum Theatre.

She’s studied clowning in Paris, worked as a choreographer at Disneyland, and toured New Zealand as a football team massage therapist; her life is a smorgasbord of sensational stories. However, despite a life full of wonder and bad ass joy, this self-confessed "hopeless romantic" is still chasing that elusive ideal of happily-ever-after... BUT WHY? Nikki knows all of this “brave man saves weak woman” palaver is super outdated, but despite her conscious understanding that she’s worth more than just being someone’s wife, her hardwired DNA (and possibly her 90’s power ballad cassette collection) compels her to keep searching for The One.

“This is much more than a show about “Boo hoo I don't have a special friend!”, it's about truffles and pigeons and poetry too.”, Nikki explains. “Audiences can expect to hear a very new, very unique take on one of humanity’s oldest and most familiar predicaments. They can expect to feel connected, and delighted... and there may be some interpretive dance.”

Described by the Sydney Morning Herald as one of Australian Comedy's “most exciting rising stars”, Nikki Britton’s effervescent style, outrageous characters and lightning wit has seen her sell out shows at every MICF for the last four years. Her latest offering is another one not to be missed.

"It's a breathlessly energetic force-of-nature performance that sweeps up all in her path" - Chortle

★★★★1/2 "... a stellar combination of pathos, silliness and observational humour" - The Herald Sun
