MARIE WIDOLF ~ Creator of the fictional cartoon-character known as Gertrude

BY Mickie | 16-Mar-2017
MARIE WIDOLF is a Sydney based artist and the creator of the fictional cartoon-character known as Gertrude. WIDOLF composes her ink-drawings with Copic Multiliner pens, markers, archival Staedtler Pigment Liners, ink and gouache. Her ability to have such amazing precision will leave the viewer astonished. WIDOLF has a delicate way with her line work and creates such a loving character called Gertrude. To view these framed pen, ink and gouache on paper in person, come to ArtSHINE Gallery. This exhibition will be running until the 22 of March.
MARIE WIDOLF is quoted saying "Gertrude is my alter-ego and is modelled after my own disasters in my kitchen, my reluctance of following recipes, and yet my fascination with the world of food! With a tendency to day-dream and procrastinate, and fearing her kitchen is really out to get her, Gertrude secretly hopes to one day become a contestant on the TV-show MasterChef!"

We are currently looking to create a partnership with national and international magazines and newspapers for regular publications. Take home a framed ink-drawing home with you click link to buy online or come down to ArtSHINE Gallery located @ 3 Blackfriars Street Chippendale, NSW 2008
