It’s been 20 years since Ross and Rachel were on a break, Elaine busted out her outrageous dance moves at a work ‘do, and we fell in love with the flashy girl from Flushing. Celebrating the best decade of television history, Fran and Yetta are doing Melbourne Fringe audiences a massive favour and for ONE NIGHT ONLY are filming a 90s Sitcom Special. And you’re invited. Yep, even you, Ugly Naked Guy.
Hitting the ever popular Lithuanian Club Main Theatre at 7pm on Thursday the 28th of September, 'Yada Yada Yada: A 90s Sitcom Special' brings together the much lauded comic stylings of Lauren Edwards and Jude Perl. Described as “Australia’s next Gina Riley and Jane Turner” (Stage Whispers) this 50 minute slice of hilarity is a journey through what made iconic 90s sitcoms iconic.
"I love the character of Fran Fine, then one day saw a promo image of Jude wearing her Yetta t-shirt and within a week our producer had introduced us and we started brainstorming.", explains Lauren Edwards. "Even though it might give the impression of a simple comedy tribute, the show does actually build towards something and I really look forward to it every night. I also really love singing the songs Jude wrote - they are bloody great fun. The whole show is just pure fun.. and some serious wig game."
Created and performed by Edwards and Perl, 'Yada Yada Yada: A 90s Sitcom Special' has previously played to packed houses and rave reviews. A multi-talented performer and comedian, Jude Perl has been awarded two consecutive Green Room Awards for Best Original Song in 2016 and 2017, and musical comedian Lauren Edwards is best known for her work on The Full Monty Musical, A Super Brady Cabaret, and 21 Chump Street.
Running for ONE NIGHT ONLY during this years' Melbourne Fringe Festival, catch up with your favourite heartthrobs, Jewish grandmas and popular unseen characters of 90s television. It's a blink and you miss it hot date to see why Fran and her Bubbe put the Full in Full House.
