Born in the United States in 1958, Greg has been residing in the UAE for the last year. His creative interests vary quite a bit including woodworking, wood carving, pencil, colored pencil, pastels, and acrylic painting. The pieces he has created while here are mainly watercolor, pencil and acrylic paint since his wood related tools do not travel well.

«I am not young I only began drawing and painting a few years ago. I have always had a passion for woodworking and as I began creating unique furniture pieces I found a need for hand carving wood pieces. Acting on a friends advice I joined his carving club and I discovered that while I enjoyed learning about carving what I really enjoyed was visiting with other artists sharing the same interest. I soon after joined the local art league and started working with pencil and colored pencil. The last couple of years I finally overcame my intimidation with paint and started working in acrylics.

I find my biggest challenge is to "get out of the box". I tend to gravitate to representing things as they are and I struggle with being more abstract in my work. I hope you enjoy my pieces. While I do enjoy the creative process my real satisfaction is when someone looks at a piece and finds an interest in it».

Three Artworks of Greg Chitwood were successfully sold during the first week of Exhibition.

Group Exhibition «Mixture» at Art Hub will be on display during the month July 2017.
